Vanier's Museo Parc Maple Syrup 1Ltr - Ottawa, Canada

Less than 5km away from Downtown Ottawa, the Vanier Museoparc’s Sugar Shack is one of the few active urban sugar shacks in Canada. It is within its 17.5 acres sugar bush, in the middle of the National Capital, that the Museoparc proudly preserves the tradition of timeless sugar parties.

Each year a team of volunteer sugar farmers, directed by Marc Madore, transforms the water from their maple trees into precious golden syrup. The Sugar Shack has between 600 and 1000 taps, using traditional methods to produce between 400 and 600 L of syrup each season.
